The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is hosting a very special edition of our Paws and Pages Literacy Program. Each year, 4th of July celebrations cause many of our community’s pets to experience anxiety and fear. This will be the first ever Paws and Pages event for adults to read to shelter pets! Active duty and veteran members of all branches of our armed forces - and any adult who cares about reducing shelter pets’ stress levels during the holiday, can join us on July 4th from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. to read to shelter cats and dogs.

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona's Education Department wants to celebrate the hard work and dedication of teachers and educators. As part of the festivities for our 75th anniversary, educators are invited to enjoy a week-long adoption event thanking Tucson's educators and teachers.

During our Pets for Educators adoption event, all pocket pet, cat, and dog adoption fees will be SPONSORED for all teachers who adopt a pet during the week of July 8th through July 14th at HSSA's Main Campus. Just show I.D. that indicates you are an educator to take advantage of the adoption special.

Join us at our Main Campus at 635 W. Roger Rd on Thursday, July 11th for a time capsule dedication ceremony, cupcakes and more as we celebrate our 75th anniversary and prepare for the next 75 years of helping to save homeless pets in Southern Arizona.

School's out. Let's party! Along with our Pets for Educators sponsored adoption event, our Educator Appreciation Week will feature the Top of the Class Teacher Social. If you're a teacher, educator, professor, or instructor in Southern Arizona, you're invited to join us on Friday, July 12th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our Main Campus. Relax after the long school year and mingle with other TOP educators. Enjoy food and drinks, campus tours, humane curriculum materials, meet our ambassador pets and Pet VIP dogs. We'll have tote bags, books, and exclusive giveaways, too!

Join us at our 75th Anniversary Banquet Dinner on Saturday, July 13th at El Conquistador Tucson, A Hilton Resort.

The banquet will include delicious food and drink, a look at the past 75 years of animal welfare progress and a very special New Beginnings Canine Program appeal.

Woofdown Wednesday never tasted so good.

This year, Woofdown Wednesday is a part of our 75th Anniversary celebrations! We're partnering with the yummiest restaurants, eating establishments, and local businesses for a single day of Woofdown deliciousness.

Dine out for breakfast, lunch, or dinner (or all 3!) on Wednesday, July 17th at one of our participating Woofdown Wednesday restaurants and a portion of your meal purchase will go towards supporting the pets and programs of the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona provides valuable and potentially life-saving Colorado River Toad avoidance training classes in July and August. Each Colorado River Toad avoidance training class gives dogs the necessary training to help prevent an expensive and potentially deadly exposure to Colorado River Toads.

HSSA Presents "Lassie Come Home" at The Loft Cinema

Celebrate our 75th with a FREE screening of the original Lassie film starring Elizabeth Taylor. The film would have been showing in local theaters 75 years ago when HSSA was founded!

Showtime is Sunday, July 28th at 2 p.m. at The Loft Cinema. Starting July 1st, look for tickets at HSSA Main Campus, PAWSH Park Place, HSSA Thrift Store, and Ten55 Brewery and at other 75th Anniversary events.
