Staff Veterinarian

Think veterinary medicine needs a change? SO DO WE! The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is able to offer things not available at most clinics. Set schedule, minimal on call, high staff retention, skilled surgical technicians, digital radiographs, ultrasound, no late nights, no production requirements, supportive administration, treatment flexibility, and the best part? The chance to make a noticeable difference in the Southern Arizona community utilizing private and public funding opportunities. Our facility is looking to add to our Veterinary Medical staff in multiple areas.HSSAZ has some exciting plans for southern Arizona and we want you to join us in making them a reality!

The Veterinarian will be responsible for implementing best practices to ensure the health and well-being of the HSSA shelter pets, including daily shelter medicine duties, treating animals in foster care, review of newly arrived pets and daily rounds of pets currently in our care in conjunction with HSSA’s dedicated Clinic Veterinarians.

The Veterinarian will also be responsible for spay/neuter of both shelter pets and owned pets, as well as dentals for shelter pets, and community vaccination and wellness clinics for owned pets.

Children's Programs Coordinator

Would you like to inspire the next generation to care for and love pets the way you do? If so, this job is for you!

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) is looking for an experienced Children’s Programs Coordinator to join our Education and Outreach team! This individual assists in the facilitation of the Education and Outreach Department’s programs for children. Presents educational programs at schools, churches, fairs, public events, etc. Acts as a resource and informational contact for HSSA staff, children, educators and community members. Develops and revises curriculum for on-site programs and school programs as needed. Salary range: $15.50/hr Full time

Clinic Technician

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) is looking for experienced, compassionate Clinic Technician to join our team. Help reduce the number of homeless and unwanted animals in our community!  Salary range: $14.50/hr-$20.30/hr. No on-call and no afterhours!

*Veterinary Assistant/Technician experience with surgical support required.
