Help Heal Sick and Injured Pets

Every day, we lose pets across southern Arizona to curable conditions. At the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, the limitation isn’t space or expertise. It's funding.

This fund makes it possible for us to say “yes” to helping sick and injured pets. Your donation to the Second Chance Medical Fund helps critically ill and injured pets survive, heal, and thrive!

Treatable conditions shouldn’t be a death sentence

Thousands of cats are euthanized for ringworm annually. Although it’s treatable and nonserious, the fact that ringworm is highly contagious means it can quickly spiral out of control in under-resourced shelters. Thanks to donations from our community, we’re saving kittens with ringworm and finding them loving homes.

Curing canine cancer

The Second Chance Medical Fund saved sweet and gentle Judy from a contagious but curable cancer. Donations paid for weeks of chemo and testing while Judy was kept in near-total isolation. The young dog made a full recovery and found a home with all the love and attention she deserves after so much time in isolation.

Solving medical mysteries

When tiny kitten Pomelo fell and broke his neck, dislocated his ankle, and lost control of his neck, we had no explanation. But for Pomelo’s long-term health, we were determined to figure out the cause. Thanks to donations from caring community members like you, we took Pomelo to a specialist where we learned a severe ear infection had impaired his balance. With treatment, Pomelo is thriving in his foster home.

Humane Society of Southern Arizona is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. Our tax ID is 86-0112798, and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law.
