Now offering low-cost dental services
Infected gums and rotted teeth cause great suffering in pets and regular dental care and maintenance is a necessity. Dental procedures for pets can be very expensive. But we're here to help.
The Humane Society of Southern Arizona’s Clinic has expanded our Wellness Program services to include many essential and life-saving dental care options for pets. The Wellness Program works to serve households that may be struggling to afford veterinary care in these difficult times. Dental procedures offered by the HSSA Clinic include dental exams and x-rays, cleanings, bloodwork, and much more, and are available for everyone, regardless of income.
Please call the Humane Society of Southern Arizona Clinic to learn more about eligibility and to schedule your pre-dental appointment. Please call 520-881-0321 and we will get back to you as soon as possible!
All pets are required to have a pre-dental exam and pets over the age of 5 will require lab work prior to receiving dental services. At this time our veterinary team will go over any information that you will need to be aware of before signing off and scheduling your pet's dental appointment.
Please bring your cats in a secure carrier. Cats can escape easily if not properly contained. It is best to bring multiple cats in individual carriers. If you do not have multiple carriers, for your convenience we offer sturdy cardboard cat carriers for $8.
Dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier at all times, even puppies.
For more information, contact our Clinic at (520) 881-0321.
How much does it cost?
Pre-dental exam cost is $15 and helps HSSA Veterinary team determine the level of care needed for a patient and allows us to give them a more accurate estimate of care.
HSSA's Income-based Wellness Clinic
HSSA’s donor-subsidized veterinary clinic plays a crucial role in ensuring pets stay healthy, with their families, and not surrendered to a shelter for lack of health care.
All wellness services are by appointment only. We do not see walk-in appointments, and urgent care cases should be seen by a local emergency clinic.
Please call 520-881-0321 to determine eligibility and to schedule an appointment.
HSSA’s donor-subsidized veterinary clinic is a full-service clinic for income-qualifying pet owners. Clinic services are not free. We offer reasonable, fixed fees for our quality care. You must qualify to use clinic wellness services. Proof of income and eligibility is required prior to scheduling an appointment. All sources of income must be included for each household. We limit our services to pet owners who otherwise would not gain access to quality veterinary care for their companion pets. Please speak to a customer service representative to determine eligibility.
Proof of income includes:
• Two (2) paycheck stubs dated within the last month for each wage earner
• Social Security benefit letter
• Disability benefit letter
• W2s or tax documentation for the last calendar year
• Government award letter that states household income
