Kids and pets get together at Humane Amigos Summer Camp.

These camps give children a new perspective on caring for animals, preventing animal cruelty, understanding animal behavior and more. We use a variety of activities that stress an appreciation for our environment and preservation of our natural world, including classroom activities; creative and artistic exercises; hands-on animal care; great games, and character-building lessons.

Campers spend a minimum of 2 hours daily caring for different camp foster animals, which may include ball pythons, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, cats and dogs. Dog Days provides children with in-depth, hands-on education about animal care and the human-animal bond.

Join us for a Sweet Treat Saturday!

Join the Hand in Paw Kid’s Club for this FREE members-only family event. Ice Cream and various toppings will be provided, as well as dairy free sorbet options. Plus, we’ll have fun activities for the whole family including how to make dog ice cream, learning about household hazards and pet safety, shelter tours, and more!

Pre-registration is required and distance seating options will be available.

Movie & a Cuddle with Bedtime Stories

Let's Celebrate Summer!
We’re celebrating the beginning of summer, so let’s start with Movie and a Cuddle! We will start off by reading bedtime stories to our shelter pets, followed by crafts, a pizza dinner, some popcorn popping, therapy dogs and a favorite children’s movie projected on the big screen! Feel free to bring your own blanket, stuffed animals and wear your favorite PJ’s!

Cost is $25 for HIP member and $35 for non-members.

This event starts at 5:00pm and ends at 9:00pm and will take place in the Education Center of HSSA's main location at 635 W Roger Rd.
