Bringing your pet back home
If your pet has been brought to us as a stray, we are so happy to help them find their way to you! We take great care of every pet that comes in, including making sure they have all their current vaccinations. We do charge a nominal fee for you to reclaim your pet. This fee helps us to keep our doors open, so we can help the next lost pet.
There may be an additional charge for emergency injury/medical fees if your animal was injured or sick when we received them.
|Sheltering, additional days||$35|
|Sheltering, additional days||$55|
All reclaimed pets must be microchipped. If your pet needs a microchip, there will be a $20 fee.
Remember, abandoning animals is a crime! Questions? Speak with an admissions employee.
How much does it cost to save a life?
Getting a pet ready for their forever home takes a number of necessary steps:
The average amount spent on each shelter pet is $910.
Every pet that comes into our care receives the proper vaccinations, a spay/neuter surgery, food, shelter, a warm and dry place to sleep, and if they need it, behavioral training and special medical attention.
We also make sure every single pet in our care gets a microchip, so that if they ever get lost, they can find their way back to the people who love them.
Where do I bring my pet?
If you need to bring a pet to HSSA for admissions, you will want to go to the green Admissions building.
