Meet Flipper
Flipper came to us with severe injuries from a cat fight. He, however, doesn’t have a fighting spirit. He is a sweet and loving boy who just found himself at the wrong place at the wrong time. His recovery was a quick one filled with plenty of love from visitors and our adoptions staff. Now, he is sharing plenty of love with his forever family.

Meet Frida
The journey to find a forever home can be a long one. For Frida, this meant waiting 200 days. We never gave up on this sweet girl, working tirelessly on behavioral training to keep her healthy and happy as we awaited her forever family. Finally, Frida’s dreams of having a forever home to call her own came true. She is now reaping all of the benefits of her hard work with her new family.

Meet Oreo
Oreo always admired life outdoors. While at HSSA, you could often find him in a catio overlooking the pollinator gardens and meowing hello to passersby. Though he had trouble playing nice in an enclosed space. However, with every day that went by at HSSA, he felt more comfortable and learned to show his true personality. Now, Oreo is living his best life in a home with a catio for him to rest and relax in when he's not out exploring the world on adventures with his parents. Meet Cilantro
Cilantro came to HSSA with an uncomfortable mass on his rump. A sweet boy with a gentle demeanor, Cilantro graciously accepted help from the medical team who removed this mass. While his scar began to heal, Cilantro enjoyed long walks with volunteers. Now, he is feeling better than ever and sharing this love with a foster family that adores him.

Meet Queenie
Queenie is a lovable girl with a larger than life personality. When she came to HSSA it was clear she needed a little extra help slimming down to reach a healthy weight. She was out on a special diet and had plenty of time to run and play during playgroup sessions with other shelter dogs. This gorgeous girl is feeling much better now and can’t wait to pose for an adoption photo with her future forever family.

Meet Zendaya
Pets who are born differently need special care to keep them safe. For Zendaya, who was born without eyes, this meant having surgery on her eye sockets to keep them clean and protected from possible infection. This sweetheart’s journey to healing was right on schedule. Once she hit the adoption floor, her playful and curious personality won the hearts of what is now her forever family.

Meet Nemo
The initial symptoms of Valley Fever can go unnoticed, just as Nemo’s did. When he came to HSSA, the infection had caused bony lesions on several of his bones, drastically reducing the mobility of his back leg. His tiny tail wagging was the only sign our team needed to know that he still had so much fight in him. Now fostered by our Shelter Manager, Nemo enjoys cuddling up with blankets and going for walks in his little red wagon.

Meet Teddy
When we met Teddy, he had already been through surgery repairing a fractured leg. However, his road to recovery was not as smooth as expected. The screws and plates meant to repair his leg came out of place and were visibly causing Teddy pain. To relieve him, his leg was amputated. He impressed us all as he gracefully acclimated to life as a tripod and quickly joined a forever family.

Meet Billy
Billy has all of the incredible qualities Golden Retrievers are known for: friendliness, loyalty, and a loving heart. However, when he came to HSSA he also had an infected eye that was starting to weigh down his spirit. After removing what would never again be a functional eye, Billy has healed and after a short search for a home, he finally found his happily ever after with his forever family.

Meet Ghoolion
Meet Ghoolion, a three month old kitten who is taking on an upper respiratory infection and Calici virus. Her tiny eyes and button nose are often burdened with discharge, but she is taking on her medical journey with the heart of a miniature warrior.

Meet Sierra
At only 10 months of age, sweet Sierra was hit by a car. Her pelvis was broken in two spots, along with an irreparable break on her front leg. Through all her pain, her loving spirit shined through as she bounded into her caretakers’ laps for cuddle breaks. She is now adjusting to life as a tripod with her loving foster home.
