There's an event for everyone...
Seventy-five years ago, the story of our forever home began with the goal of finding more humane ways to help homeless animals in our community. From this humble beginning, and for the next seventy-five years, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona has worked tirelessly to serve the homeless pets and the people who love them in Southern Arizona.
We're now moved into our new home and, over the past year, we've been eagerly preparing for our 75th Anniversary! We're proud to have served our community for so long. Join us in celebrating this milestone throughout 2019. Here's to another seventy-five years!

We've been on an incredible journey over the last 75 years! Join us for an evening celebrating our history, dining, and fun. The banquet will be much more than just dinner and drinks! An inspired collection of items will be on display for the silent auction and the live auction portion of the evening will include artwork by Diana Maderas and more.
The guest speaker for the night will be Emmy Award-winning television personality Brandon McMillan of CBS's "Lucky Dog". McMillan is renowned for his animal training techniques and will provide a live demonstration. The night will also highlight a retrospective of our last 75 years, and a look to the future with a very special presentation about the New Beginnings Canine Program.

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is hosting a very special edition of our Paws and Pages Literacy Program.

7:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
Each year, 4th of July celebrations cause many of our community’s pets to experience anxiety and fear. This will be the first ever Paws and Pages event for adults to read to shelter pets! Active duty and veteran members of all branches of our armed forces and any adult who cares about reducing shelter pets’ stress levels during the holiday, can join us on July 4th from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. to read to shelter cats and dogs.
Every participant of this event can receive one FREE book from Bookman's donated library to read during the event and then take home!

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona's Education Department wants to celebrate the hard work and dedication of teachers and educators. As part of the festivities for our 75th anniversary, educators are invited to enjoy a week-long adoption event thanking Tucson's educators and teachers.
During our Pets for Educators adoption event, all pocket pet, cat, and dog adoption fees will be SPONSORED for all teachers who adopt a pet during the week of July 8th through July 14th at HSSA's Main Campus.
